All animals and plants in the sanctuary are protected.  Please take only photos and memories.

We recommend that you bring water, bug spray, binoculars, and a camera when you explore the boardwalk. (Water bottles, bug spray, and binocular rentals are available in the Blair Audubon Visitor Center.)

Warning about flies:

Yellow flies and deer flies are on the wing in Florida from March to November, with the peak season being April through June. All exposed parts of the victim’s body may be attacked, and since the flight is rather quiet, a person is not aware of the fly until the sharp pain of the bite is felt.  Flies are visual as well as odor hunters, so a repellent containing DEET may deter them somewhat, but it will not stop them. The best protection is to wear long sleeves and long pants during the flies’ peak season.

Please leave your pets at home where they are comfortable. For everyone's safety, we allow only service animals on the boardwalk.

Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary has ample free parking. Please lock your car, leave nothing visible to passers-by and always take valuables with you.

Please silence your cell phones and put on vibrate mode.

To hear and see more wildlife on your visit of the boardwalk, we recommend that you keep your voices low.

Public restrooms are available inside the Blair Visitor Center and outside by the parking lot entrance. There are no public restrooms on the boardwalk.

Please follow the posted boardwalk rules, which are located at the entrance of the boardwalk.
