Corkscrew will host a local Butterfly Orientation Workshop and Walk on Wednesday July 18, 2018 from 9am - 12 noon.
This workshop will begin in the classroom of our Blair Audubon Center and will help participants learn more about local butterflies and their host plants and how to identify commonly seen species. We will also go on an outdoor excursion into different habitats to practice identification skills.
Participants will need to sign a release form to go on the walk. Participants should dress for the weather, wear comfortable close-toed walking shoes, and bring sun protection, a water bottle, and binoculars. We have binoculars we can lend out to those who do not have a pair.
Attendance at this training is free, with the option to pay admission if you wish to explore the Sanctuary's boardwalk on your own afterwards.
Additionally, people with an interest in helping survey our local butterflies are invited to join us on Thursday, July 26, 2018 for Corkscrew's Fall NABA butterfly survey.
