Renee Wilson joined the Audubon Florida team in May 2019. As Senior Communications Coordinator, she works with staff around the state to create and manage content for the Audubon Florida website and social media channels. She also assists in the production of printed and electronic publications.
Renee also serves as the media liaison for Audubon’s Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary. In addition to helping manage Corkscrew’s website and electronic newsletter, she also engages with media outlets to raise awareness of the Sanctuary’s research, stewardship, and education efforts.
Originally from upstate New York and Vermont, Renee graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in Mass Communications/Public Relations. She moved to Naples in 1991. She held PR positions for a construction company and an interior design firm before taking the position of Research Translator with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection at Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve. She worked there for 18 years before joining the team at Audubon.
As a Florida Master Naturalist Program graduate and instructor, Renee loves the southwest Florida environment and enjoys nature photography, birdwatching, boating, and snorkeling.
