Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary Wild Florida Adventure Camp 2024

Exciting, nature-based summer camp for children ages 6-12 years.

Get ready for a summer to remember!  Join us for an exciting nature-based summer camp for children ages 6-12 years at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary. Each week features a different theme with fun, interactive, hands-on activities for campers to explore the natural wonders of the Sanctuary. Campers will discover the ancient forest and animals in the Sanctuary and along the boardwalk through activities that integrate science, arts and crafts, sports, water play, and more.

Each of our camp weeks focuses on a different theme. Sign up for one week or more. The fee is $235/week or $185/week for members. Scholarships and sibling discounts are also available. For the short weeks of June 17 and July 1, the fee is $190/week or $150/week for members.

Weeks 1 and 5 – Survival in the Swamp (Week of June 3rd and July 1st)

What special tricks do Corkscrew plants, animals, and insects have to survive in the swamp?  Campers will explore the two-mile boardwalk in search of plants, animals and insects to uncover their special adaptations and amazing connections.  Campers will also learn about human survival skills in the wild!

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Weeks 2 and 6 – The Secret Life of Trees (Week of June 10th and July 8th)

Find out about the secret life of trees from the tips of the treetops to the bottom of their roots and everything in between!  Campers will investigate how trees talk to each other, who lives in them, what eats them, and how trees survive in the dry and wet places in the Sanctuary.  Join us for an amazing week of everything trees!

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Weeks 3 and 7 - Insects Here, There and Everywhere! (Week of June 17th and July 15th)

Learn about the curious critters and creepy crawlies that call Corkscrew Swamp their home!  Campers will use microscopes, dip nets, and more to get a closer look at the fascinating world of insects in the water, bushes, trees and earth beneath their feet.

Week 4 – Mysteries of Day and Night in the Swamp (Week of June 24th)

Are you a day walker or night crawler?  Find out what happens during the day and night at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary.  Campers will explore the different creatures active during the day and will be invited to a special night program to uncover the mysteries of the swamp’s night creatures.  This week promises to be a fascinating look at the swamp as day turns to night.

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Before and After Care

Before care is available from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., and aftercare is available from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. for an additional fee of $30/week.
