Heather Gienapp joins Audubon after working 18 years at the Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve in Ft. Myers as an environmental educator and supervisor. Also an amateur ethnobotanist, Heather holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Environmental Science from Muskingum College.
She moved to Florida in 1998 and discovered the beauty of its ecosystems. Since then, she has taken nature awareness classes from Tom Brown, Jr.’s Tracker School and youth education classes from the Children of the Earth Foundation.
Heather is passionate about teaching people of all ages the importance and beauty of Florida’s natural areas. As Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary’s education manager she oversees and delivers youth educational programs including school groups and summer camps.
