Community Outreach

We have opened the Sanctuary with reduced hours of operation for members as we monitor the spread of COVID-19 in Collier County and the world. We are committed to protecting our visitors, volunteers, and staff from the novel coronavirus, and because our boardwalk is less than six feet wide, we must maintain a low visitation rate to prevent crowding. Registration is required.

Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary educators are happy to provide quality, educational programming to the community. Although physically delivering these programs to the community is not possible during the COVID-19 pandemic, we are able to provide virtual outreach programs using Zoom's Webinar feature. We look forward to resuming in-person programs again soon.

We offer a variety of engaging and informative talks about Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, our work, and the habitats and wildlife we are working to protect. Each program lasts approximately one hour and allows time for questions.

Below please find a selection of available topics:

  • Birds of Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary
  • Bats of Florida
  • Reptiles in our Backyards
  • Prescribed Fire
  • Landscaping for Birds with Native Plants

The cost of these virtual programs is $200.00.

We also offer "An Introduction to Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary" webinar free of charge.

In order to get a Corkscrew outreach program on your calendar, please reserve your date and topic by emailing us as far in advance as possible.
