Jeff Gage serves as the Education Manager for Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary. He is a state certified science teacher whose role includes designing and delivering innovative environmental education programs for school age groups. Jeff creates a meaningful and memorable experience for program participants, while teaching a profound appreciation for the amazing natural environment here at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary.
Jeff was born in Fayatteville, NC and graduated from high school in Gainesville, Florida. He received his bachelor's degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas and earned his masters in educational administration from the University of Texas at Tyler. He taught Environmental Education for 11 years as an instructor and two as a coordinator for a school district.
Since then, Jeff has had the privilege of being a state park ranger, leading historical tours for guests, and has plenty of experience leading camps for a variety of student groups. When not working, Jeff likes to travel with his wife and explore new places—the more natural and pristine, the better.
