Kristina O’Hern joined Audubon in 2020. She oversees Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary’s Membership, Volunteer, and Campus Host programs.
Her career has deep roots in the non-profit sector and community-based organizations. Prior to joining the Sanctuary team, Kristina served as Program Director of Florida Dreamcatchers, a comprehensive, adventure-based youth mentoring organization that connects under-resourced students to caring adult and peer volunteer mentors. A key component of her work included exposing the students to environmental education, wilderness exploration, travel, and camping.
Prior to working in youth development, Kristina held certification as an accredited representative through the U.S. Department of Justice.
Kristina is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota where she earned a B.A. in Elementary and K-12 Education with a Specialty in World Languages and Cultures. She is passionate about relationship building and working together to protect Florida’s wild places.
