She held PR positions for a construction company and an interior design firm before taking the position of Research Translator with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection at Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve. She worked there for 18 years before joining the team at Audubon.

As a Florida Master Naturalist Program graduate and instructor, Renee loves the southwest Florida environment and enjoys nature photography, birdwatching, boating, and snorkeling.
