Celebrate Latino Conservation Week at Audubon's Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary with free admission on Saturday, September 21. Mexican frozen treats and other food and drink items will be available for purchase in the Blair Visitor Center. With exhibits, artwork, and bird-friendly gardens, the Blair Visitor Center is the gateway to an enchanting wilderness with giant cypress trees that have lived here for nearly 600 years. From there, you can begin your journey on the 2.25-mile boardwalk, meandering through pine flatwood, wet prairie, around a marsh, and finally into the largest old-growth bald cypress forest in North America.

NEW! Bilingual, Guided Nature Photo Walk

Connect with nature through the eyes of artist-in-residence Lisette Morales McCabe. Join Lisette for a walking meditation to contemplate the spirituality of Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary and how nature photography can be a recipe for self-care. This bilingual tour will include a 90-minute walk around the short loop of the trail highlighting a few of Lisette’s favorite spots to take photos. Participants are free to bring their own cameras to take photos along the way. (Lisette will not be teaching the mechanics of how to use the camera, instead she will be focusing on the artistry of photo taking.) Meet in the lobby at 8:30 am.

Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary opens at 8 a.m. and closes at 3 p.m., with the last admission at 1 p.m. Reserve your free ticket here: corkscrew.audubon.org/visit
