Sunday, August 4th – New Moon on the Boardwalk Event - 6:30pm – 9:30pm, with last admission at 8pm (sunset at 8:11pm)

Join us for a fantastic evening on the boardwalk as dusk turns to night during the new moon.  You may even catch a glimpse of the Perseid meteor shower! Come out and enjoy the following activities we have planned for a range of ages:

• Spotting scopes in the wet prairie for wildlife and night sky viewing
• Touch table on nocturnal animals (6:30 - 7:30p.m.)
• Children’s story time all about nighttime animals (7:30 - 8:00p.m.)
• Children’s nighttime sound identification activity and mini-boardwalk tour (8:00 - 9:00p.m.)
• Outdoor moth station (7:30 - 9:30p.m.)
• Learn from the Master of the Ghost Orchid Capture Workshop, with RJ Wiley, Photographer in Residence (6:45 – 8:15pm). Free program with the price of admission.  Up to 15 spaces available, on a first come first served basis.  Sign-up at the admissions desk at 6:30pm in the Blair Visitor Center.

Discounted admissions: $8/adult, $3 for children, Free for members and for children ages 5 and younger.  Say “new moon” and get a 10% discount at the Nature Store on all t-shirts!
