Celebrating Local and Small Businesses

Every Day is Small Business Saturday at the Sanctuary.

An arm of the National Audubon Society, Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary is considered a local nonprofit organization, and the Nature Store is a very small business. Purchasing items from our store is a great way to take Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary home with you while helping to support our mission. The store carries a variety of products made by local vendors or considered "fair trade." Proceeds from all store purchases go toward the protection and restoration of the Sanctuary or our educational programs.

In honor of Small Business Saturday (Nov. 27), we are celebrating some of the vendors and artisans whose merchandise is locally made and available through our store. Find books, photography, and wares by area artists including Sanctuary volunteers and staff, logo items like magnets and t-shirts produced by local businesses, there’s even hand-crafted jewelry and holiday ornaments. For some of these vendors, our store is the only place where you can purchase their wares.

Please consider supporting our friends in honor of Small Business Saturday by shopping in the Nature Store, online or in person. We even take American Express, which is the entity that invented Small Business Saturday.
