Four inches of rainfall recorded in the days leading up to Hurricane Milton's landfall on Oct. 9 kept water levels higher than average. By the end of October, staff continued to observe high water levels in our natural areas. While water levels should begin to drop as we get further into the dry season, aquatic prey (small fish, tadpoles, etc.) remain spread out in the environment.
