Audubon’s Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary was the subject of the Nature segment on CBS Sunday Morning December 1.  The video was taken by Charles Schultz, who visited Corkscrew numerous times to show the changes in wildlife and vegetation in different seasons.

The video opens with scenes of Southeastern Sunflowers in the Wet Prairie off Corkscrew’s famous boardwalk and in the backcountry, accessible only by special buggy tours. Schultz shot that video in early October. The sunflowers remain in bloom for just a few weeks.

Schultz spent the entire day on Corkscrew’s boardwalk on July 24, logging 13,000 steps. He returned several times after that.

The teaser to the Nature segment on the cbsnews.com website reads:

“We leave you this Sunday Morning at Audubon's Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary in Florida, home to flowers, turtles, and the occasional gator. Videographer: Charles Schultz”
