Help Preserve These Important Wetlands for Wildlife and People
Audubon's Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary protects approximately 13,000 acres of cypress swamp and other habitats in the heart of the Corkscrew Watershed in Southwest Florida; part of the Western Everglades.
The unique natural resources within the Sanctuary provide excellent habitat for birds and other wildlife. Our wetlands recharge local aquifers while our watershed feeds rivers and estuaries, providing ideal conditions for fishing and coastal recreation as well as clean drinking water and irrigation for agricultural productivity.
Your support enables us to restore and preserve this important national treasure. It also gives the region's schoolchildren, their families, and visitors from around the world the opportunity to experience and appreciate this wondrous natural resource.
Please consider donating to Audubon; while your financial support is critical, donating your time and talent as a volunteer or joining as a member are other ways to help.
NOTE: Donations to Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary are 100% tax-deductible. Corkscrew Memberships, which provide 12 months of unlimited visits to the boardwalk, a discount in the Nature Store, etc., are not 100% deductible. The IRS categorizes this type of membership as a contribution with benefits attached that have fair market value.
