Kristina O'Hern

Volunteer and Membership Manager

Kristina O’Hern has been part of the Audubon Florida flock since 2020 and is the Volunteer and Membership Manager for Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary. She is a strong relationship manager and community needs advocate with more than 15 years of experience working for non-profit organizations in Southwest Florida.

As the volunteer and membership manager, Kristina plans and delivers many events including the annual Corkscrew volunteer recognition event that engages and celebrates the contributions of volunteers of varying levels who donate their time and expertise in support of our critical conservation mission.

Prior to joining Audubon, Kristina served as program director for Florida Dreamcatchers, a comprehensive, adventure-based youth mentoring organization that connects under-resourced students with caring, adult and peer volunteer mentors. A key component of her work included exposing the students to environmental education, wilderness exploration, travel, and camping.

Kristina is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota where she earned a B.A. in elementary and K-12 education with a specialty in world languages and cultures.  She is fluent in Spanish and has been a member of the Audubon Florida Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging taskforce for more than four years. She is passionate about engaging others to build a brighter future for birds, other wildlife, and people.
