Corkscrew will host a local Butterfly Identification Workshop and Field Excursion on September 25, 2024 from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m .  

This workshop will begin in the classroom of our Blair Audubon Center and will help participants learn more about local butterflies and their host plants and how to identify commonly seen species. We will also go on an outdoor excursion, for about an hour and a half, into our pollinator garden and different habitats to practice identification skills. 

Participants will need to sign a release form to go on the field excursion. Participants should dress for the weather, wear comfortable close-toed shoes, and bring sun protection, a water bottle, and binoculars.  

Attendance at this training is free, and you can tour the boardwalk afterward with a boardwalk admission ticket.

Additionally, people with an interest in helping survey our local butterflies are invited to join us on October 19, 2024 for Corkscrew's Fall NABA Butterfly Count, preregistration is required for that event also.
