Enjoy World Wetlands Day on February 2, 2025

Celebrating 71 years of wetland conservation at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary

Please join us for a celebration of wetland conservation on World Wetlands Day, Sunday, February 2, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event includes guided tours on the boardwalk and in the backcountry, interpretive stations, guided forest meditation, a nest-building activity, and nature journaling. Some activities require registration and/or an additional fee to participate. 

Plus! Everyone can save ten percent on all heron-themed merchandise in the Nature Store. 

Event Itinerary

8 to 11 a.m. | Swamp Buggy Tour

  • Cost: $190  General Admission,  $175 for members     
  • Limit of 10 participants per tour

Register in advance for the Swamp Buggy Tour

9 a.m. | Guided Forest Meditation 

  • Cost: $5 (free for members). After check-in meet at the back of the admissions desk.

10:30 a.m. to Noon | Nest-Building Activity 

Meet in the paved patio behind the BVC to learn more about wetland bird nesting and try your hand at making your own nest.  All materials will be provided, registration is not required.

Noon to 3 p.m. | Swamp Buggy Tour

  • Cost: $190  General Admission,  $175 for members     
  • Limit of 10 participants per tour

1 to 2:30 p.m. | Intro to Nature Journaling

  • $5 per person (free for children 6 to 12 and members)
  • At least one participating adult must accompany children
  • After check-in meet at the back of the admissions desk

5 p.m. | Event concludes, everyone must clear the boardwalk before closing.
