Donor Advised Funds

A great way to support your favorite charity.

A Donor Advised Fund (DAF) is a way of donating funds to a public charity for administration and management on behalf of the donor. Audubon’s Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary is pleased to be in a position to accept donations through this giving vehicle, and an initiative called #HalfMyDAF makes it possible for us to receive matching funds on May 15 and Sept. 30.

Our sincere thanks to Chicago native and Naples newcomer Nancy Gillis for participating in this opportunity and putting Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary on the board for a potential match gift during the first drawing on May 15, 2021.

"Our family firmly believes that transferring assets to our Donor Advised Fund isn't 'philanthropy,' says Nancy. "Sure, we take advantage of a tax deduction, and a financial institution gains fees. But no one gets fed or housed or educated, no school library gets books, no dog becomes an assistance animal, and important programs at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary may have to wait.  We are teaching the grandchildren that philanthropy only starts when we put the funds to work!   And that we do!  With gusto!  Won't you join our three generations of family and 'put it to work'?"

Participating is as easy as 1, 2, 3!

  1. Put your Donor Advised Fund dollars to work! Make grants (of all sizes!) to your favorite nonprofits.
  2. Supercharge your grant! Complete this form to nominate the nonprofits for the matching gift opportunity.
  3. Check-in on May 15 and September 15 to see if your grant was selected for a match.

We hope you’ll take advantage of this exciting opportunity and support Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary. Your gift is critically needed as we work to close the financial impact of COVID-19 before the end of our fiscal year on June 30.
